Snowdrops

It feels like winter,
But snowdrops in my garden,
Talk to me of Spring.

Poinsettias

Three poinsettias,
Given to me by friends,
Decorate my house.

May 16, 2014

When Neko came for the day,
And then played statues.

He sits on the window sill,

Seeking shelter from the rain,
A pair of robins.

Listening to the tree frog,
Outside in the rain.

That’s why we call them naked ladies,

With the black raven’s feather,
I make a quill pen.

Lighting up the sky,
My next door neigbour flying,
His drone in the garden.

Wild deer come at night,
And eat the apples falling,
From the tree in front.

A Fall crocus and in the fields,
Heard crickets humming.

I find a raven’s feather,

A blue pumpkin in her garden,
What shade will it be.

And calls bonjour to the neighbors,
Passing by in the street.

I can see where deer have slept,
In grass and Queen Anne’s lace.

On my flowering cactus,
If I had a camera.

Under her pillow,
A small green jade elephant,
Put there by Neko.

The sweetgrass basket,
Still smelling of the prairies,
Reminds me of her.

After The Rain

Waiting for the sun,
The bright yellow St. John’s Worts,
Are drooping and sad.

Early Summer

Outside my kitchen window,
Blowing in the wind,
Shasta daisies waiting to blossom.

Canada Day

I opened my back door this morning,
And across the fields,
I heard bagpipes playing.
